In Brian McLaren And The Emerging Church I began to explore what McLaren’s particular theology has been emerging into, and now beginning with this series we start putting all the pieces together. As I previously stated I am not someone prone to conspiracy theories so what I offer is something I was most definitely not looking for. However, what I am going to be showing you is based on my careful and personal analysis of what McLaren himself writes as well as what those he associates with and endorses have said in their own books.
I will now present quite credible evidence that Brian McLaren and possibly others within Emergent-US leadership have been given over to teaching a doctrine of panentheism–or worse–regarding the nature of the God they are supposed to be representing as ministers of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. And not only is McLaren and those he is aligning himself with teaching this blasphemy, but they also join him in denying the vicarious penal substitutionary atonement of Jesus Christ our Lord on the Cross.
